They’re about love

The Gospels aren’t social work. They’re not about shaping ourselves and the people around us up into people who “deserve.” They’re not about an “effective” use of our money, energy, and hearts. They’re about one human being having compassion for another. They’re about love.

  1. As a social worker and an OFS candidate this quote was not correct about our work. We do not judge nor shape people into those who deserve. We help anyone who needs help. I am a Social Worker who worked heart to heart with my clients and compassion was and is a part of every competent Social Worker’s approach to everyone with whom they work. This quote seemed to make Social Workers into something less than people who live the Gospel. It is just not true.
